Had to post a where are they now from some heated conversations in the past over pitching speeds. Old quotes are below but I wanted to add the names to these top pitchers.

Leslie Jury 2011 Carolina Elite Signed Alabama
Carley Hoover 2013 Team North Florida committed Stanford
Jessica Burroughs 2012 Atlanta Vipers - Berry committed Florida State

My comment then a taste of what most of the responses were like.

Leslie Jury JL Mann High School SC also Carolina Crush 14U. I have clocked her myself at 66 mph. Leslie was a 8th grader during this past season. Carolina Crush also has a 11 year old throwing 61 that is on their 12U team. It does help that both of these girls are around 6 ft tall.*

I always take a JUGS gun to tournaments with me. This past weekend the fastest pitcher I clocked was from the Atlanta Vipers (Berry) at 61 mph.

    Response:

Most of the good teams had girls throwing 55-56.I'm not trying to stir a pot but someone needs their gun adjusted, a 8th grader throwing 66 and a 11yr old throwing 61 WOW thats better than the states fastest pitcher chelsea leonard did at that age, she barely throws more than that now. I,m not saying it's not true but I and many more I believe will have to see it to believe it. Anybody out there seen a 8th grader throw 66 if so pardon me.*
I guess sc girls must throw harder than nc girls, I do think I would have heard about these awsome and out of their league pitcher before now, anyway I'm done someone else will have to challenge this.

I dont know the kid from the vipers but I have saw Carley and Leslie pitch. My daughter has caught both of them at some point in her playing days and both can bring the heat. Leslie hit 70+ 9 times in a tournament in Las Vegas this past year. Carley hit 70+ more than once with her high being documented at 72.

I guess the Jacket fan isnt such and idiot after all. I remember that argument because I was invloved and told that I was crazy among other things. I guess Stanford and Alabama are crazy places as well.

    Just to be fair

Several of the ones made comments I haven't seen on here in awhile. The last thread I saw like this a person/pitcher I didn't know had some claims on speed and got ripped. My point then was just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't true. In these 3 pitchers cases all 3 were exceptional talents at a young age. Just the travel organizations these players were with should have tipped some off that it was possible. Then add 6ft tall to the story was another clue. The Vipers pitcher is around 5-9 and was that height when she was 12.
Since this original post in 2007 each has gained speed. The 11 year old the most from 61 to 69. 66 went to 68 and 61 went to 64. Heard stories of 2 of those throwing a little over 70 I just haven't seen it first hand. I wouldn't doubt it though. Heard Jury hit 70 more than once in Gold Nationals in 2009.
