It is a little over half way and many players are having an outstanding sseason. If you had a vote know, who would be your Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year in your conference?

    Mid State 3-A Conference

Our conference unfortunately does not have a pitcher of the year award. Only a POY of the conference. Last year there were two guys in our conference that were both deserving of the award so it ended up in a tie that just could not be broken. This year I see it this way.

In no particular order right now.
Southern Alamance- Cale Rogers LHP OF - He is not only one of the best pitchers in our league he is also one of the best hitters and posistion players. If he wins the big games down the stretch on the hill and continues to hit like he has he will be right there.

Southern Alamance- Thomas Sappelt OF- He is one of the best hitters in the league. Big time power and can hit the best of pitching. Outstanding baserunner and great arm from the OF. He has to be considered.

Southern Alamance- Robinson LHP- Very good pitcher that has won all year long for the Patriots. Depending on how he finishes the conference season he should be in the running.

South Granville- Chris Luck RHP SS- Has been very good on the hill all year long for the Vikings. At the plate he is having a big year. He is hitting around .500 overall and around .400 in conference play. Luck has 6 hr's on the year and leads the team in runs scored and OBP. How he finishes the second half of the conf schedule will determine the outcome but so far has been outstanding.

South Granville- Pratt Maynard RHP 1b 3b- Pratt like Luck has been outstanding on the hill. Also at the plate he is very dangerous with 4 hr's on the year and hitting around .350 in conference play. Like Luck how he finishes the second half will have alot to do with the outcome.

South Granville- Jeff May Catcher- May is hitting around .600 in conference play and over .400 on the year with 10 hr's and around 28 rbi's. He has not allowed a stolen base in conference play and only one or two on the year. Alot will depend on what is determined to be more valuable SG's pitching or SG's defense behind the plate as well as offense.

IMO these 6 guys are hands down the best players in the conference and the most valuable to these two teams. There are other players on these two teams that are very valuable and outstanding players but these guys stand out. Outside of these two teams Oxford Webb would have the only shot at producing a POY. But it is very unlikely.

I do feel and so do the other coaches in our league that there needs to be a POY and Pitcher of the year. But the powers to be do not want to spring the money for another 20.00 trophy for some reason. Someone else will have to figure that one out for me.

East Forsyth is leading the conference with an 8-0 record lead by hitters such as Kenny Swab and Tyler Hanover. Kenny Swab is batting over .500 in conference and has 7 homeruns in conference, with 10 total. He has to be leading the conference in hitting, and should be conference hitter of the year

As far as pitching, I believe it has to either come from NW Guilford or East Forsyth. Logan Self has thrown well for the Vikings, but the staff at East Forsyth has been stellar, lead by junior pitcher Ryan Dull and senior Zac Truesdale. Dull is 3-0 in conference and has beaten NW Guilford, while Truesdale is 3-0 in conference with an era under 1. I believe one of these three should be in the running for pitcher of the year.

    Butler- Andrew Smith
    Providence- David Mailman

In this case, the winner should be selected by which team wins the conference

    MECA-

Alex Hill- Mr Everything...hitting like .900 or something. When the kid goes 3-4, he had a bad game.:cheer:

CPC Player & Pitcher of the year

Greg Holt of West Forsyth should be a strong candidate for player of the Year in the CPC again and Micheal Velten of Mt Tabor should br a strong candidate for pitcher of the year in the CPC with his 2 wins over West Forsyth & wins over N. Davidson,Davie Co.
