    Cool old thread

    Kinda cool to look back at those names from a couple of years ago.
    Some have indeed lived up to the hype and some have fallen by the
    way side...Thanks for digging that thread up.
    "Side Note"
    It's interesting to me , that back then everyone was mentioning
    the NICE, but smaller D11 & D111 schools as candidates for these girls.
    Not that there is anything wrong with any of these fine institutions.
    ( don't get offended , please )
    BUT, Now they are all going D1 etc..(UNC/LSU/UT/NCSU/MD/Va Tech/S.Ill etc etc. These schools have historicly recruited west coast & FL kids to play at this level. I as one , think it is an awesome achievment for North & South Carolina ...
    .It's a testiment to how far the talent level in the carolinas has risen . The travel coaches that have worked with these youngsters are to be commended for all their hard work as well as the young ladies .
    The last three years have flown by..The table is set for the 08/09/ and for years to come. With the addition of a stronger ASA program in the state , I think you will see more NC girls going all over the country to play.

    laronda mcclain/nat blanton

    my understanding is that laronda is doing an excellent job at wingate. heard she was leading the team with on base percentage and playing multiple positions in the infield and outfield.

    Nat Blanton has signed with UNCC and will add to that team.

    Most listed have signed or are playing ball in college.
