Mike Whited SS - Ragsdale (2010)

I wouldn't exactly say he's surprised me but he most certainly has stepped up this season. He split last season between JV and varsity - mostly on JV. They tried him at 3B last year on varsity but nobody could play third last year for the Tigers. This year they moved Brandenburg to third and inserted Whited at SS and he has played flawlessly there.

I don't have many batting statistics on him but for a relatively small kid he has banged two home runs this season - and I know of at least three times he has stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and he has cleared the bases all three times - once a grand slam.

The play of new starters like Whited and the bats at the end of their order that has benn a big part of Ragsdale's 20-2 regular season

not really a surprise because he set his goals before the season even started and stuck to them.
    AB-72 R-25 H-27 2B-8 3B-1 HR-5 RBI-26 SB-7 W-6 SO-14
    AV-.375 OBP-.432 SLG-.722
this was all regular season batting.
We start the conference tournament Monday and then of course there is the state playoffs.
    Not bad for a 5'9" 165 Jr.
Really proud of him this season.
