Playoff Bracketology?

I know there are conference tournaments to be played this week and regular seasons to be finished up which could shake the pairings up, but I was wondering what the conference standings are right now for conferences across the state, so that people can try to figure out who they may be matched up with in the playoffs. I'll update the ones I know, but everyone please correct me if I'm wrong and help me out with other conferences since I only know the ones in my area.

Piedmont Triad 3A Conference

5. North Iredell
6. Carson, Lake Norman, West Rowan (tie)

South Piedmont 3A Conference
1. Marvin Ridge
2. Piedmont High School
3-5. ??? (Anson County? Parkwood?) help please

 

I was looking ahead at the 3A West and there is a potential monster matchup in the 3rd round when SE Guilford would play East Rowan.

 

Sweet playoff time

Same in the 3A East as Rocky Mount and South Granville could go to battle.

 

How ridiculous. The #1 and #2 teams in the state playing in the 3rd round when there are still 16 teams remaining. Completely unfair that no matter what happens one of these teams is guaranteed to go home before the elite 8. Who's in 1st place in the South Piedmont?

 

Doesn't the NCHSAA seed for football playoffs?

 

SE Guilford, East Rowan, Rocky Mount, and S. Granville are the 4 best 3A teams in the state in my opinion. Sometimes, crazy things happen, however. All four may not be around by the 3rd week.

 

Yes...football is seeded....I wish they would do something like that for baseball, that way your tipical higher seeds would play each other late in the playoffs and it also provides nice upsets in the early rounds. Shouldnt we just have like a selection show like the NCAA basketball and just hype it up even more haha

 

What about a best of 3 in each round-the best TEAM would move on or what about taking 64 teams as is now-32 in East and 32 in west.The first week have 8 4-team district tourneys.After 1st week,you're down to 8.Have another 4-team tourney.So after 2 weeks,your down to 2 in East and 2 in West-play best of 3.That way every round is double elimination and the NCHSAA can't say it takes too long-you could actually finish earlier than now and you would have the BEST TEAMS earn it on the field and play for a state title.

 

I think RS Central is gonna be in the 2 of 3 semifinals. They were there last year, returned most of their lineup and are underrated.

 

Has to do with travel expenses, football generates a lot more revenue, B'ball too for that matter.

Same thing happened year before last, top two ranked softball teams in the state Kings Mt. and Enka played in the second round.

Sad it is but money talks.
