Heck of a ballgame! Conley scored 3 in the first and stayed silent until the 5th when they used 2 squeeze plays and a few walks to score 4. The Trojans scored 2 in the first, 1 in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd to lead 5-3. In the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs, the Trojans got some life and got a run on an error and had the tying run 90 feet away but failed to score him.

DH Conley will travel to Orange Thursday.

West Brunswick finishes 20-5

 

South Meck 7
W Forsyth 0

South Meck can flat out swing it, but a couple walks and errors lead to them scratching their first couple of runs.
West dodged several bullets early with pitching and defense, but the Sabres applied too much consistent preasure.
The SM pitcher was solid - and whoever was calling the pitches, solidER.
The young man carried a no hitter into the 7th.

On a final note, GREAT RUN for Coach Pope.
I hated to see it end for him, but he leaves a sound program and a solid legacy.
I always enjoyed his light-heartedness - never taking himself or the wins and losses too seriously.
Hop on your bike and head into the sunset big fella'.
I'll be there in 14 more - pray for me!

And a shout out to Mr. Schaefer at CBC.
As an out-of-towner with a couple of hours to kill before the SM/WF game, I stopped by to see the facility - tremendous place.
But the shout out is really more for his sending my son and I to Capt. Steve's for dinner. We wanted seafood and that local place was GOOD!
Thanks for taking a minute out of your day to shoot the breeze with a guy who just stumbled in.
