every year it seems, i have a parent ask me if this bat will make my daughter an all star??? my answer is always the same: "Bats are tools, like gloves, if you have great mechanics, it doesnt matter what you use, but great mechanics plus a great bat equal a super star at the plate." this parent went on to ask what is the most popular bat in this area? I couldnt give her an honest answer, so since its kinda quite on the board right now, i though we'd do a poll and maybe discuss your or your daughters sucess stories with certain bats, advantages and disadvantages.

Well cheeze as always you hit on a discussion that you hear at every ball field every weekend and of course on that I and many others have a strong opinion on. As for my 2 cents, my oldest uses nothing and has only used an Anderson Rockettech since they came out. The only bat she's ever picked up she liked as good was the Oaklahoma City. Now my youngest has used about everything. She didn't like the end loaded Rockettechs that good so she used the Catalyst (I hate the yellow ones but the new blue ones seem a little better), a Mayhem(the orange one), a Synergy, and a Worth Quad which she seemed to like best (the brown or the blue one). But now that the '07 is not so inloaded she says Rockettech all the way. Hope to see ya this weekend. Sammie

interesting results, thanks everyone for polling your opinions and to sammie for voicing your opinions. 15 yrs ago, it would have been demarini as the bat of choice.

I umpire ASA fast pitch and by far the most popular bat is the Anderson Rockettech. By most popular I mean the one that the most girls bring to the plate with them. This seems to be true in every age group. But from what I have saw the Synergy does seem to have a lot of pop.

    My opinion....

I have tried many different bats...from the '04 RT (had 2 of them and cracked both down the middle of the sleeves) all the way through to the '07 RT (the endcap went flying out of it during hitting lessons)...haven't tried the '08 yet as mom and dad said they weren't buying any more bats because they would have to take out a 2nd mortgage on the house is they did....?

I've tried the Catalyst...the yellow and black one (HATED it)....the Worth 3DX.....Easton Stealth (the older model)....ALL of which I still have....

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my 04 RT's....BUT. The best bat that I have EVER hit with and the ONLY one I have hit homeruns with is my Demarini EVO. IMHO, Head and shoulder's above the RT.....when I hit with it, it's like....solid power.... Ya know?

i have tried many different bats over the years and the one that i am the most comfortable with, and that i have the most confidance in is my RT i have tried others but they jus don't stand up to the power i feel i have while swinging a RT!
