    Hey Ajax

    St Stephens is supposed to be the best 3A teams in the Soutwestern Foothills 3A this year. They also have Burns & Hickory in that conference.

    Keep us posted on that game - it is also a candidate for the
    "Game of the Week!"

    Personally, I believe that all the guys at West Rowan would be extremely honored that any of you guys would consider them in your Sweet Sixteen polls. It's probably the first poll of any kind that they've been considered for.

    I'm sure that this question will be answered soon, but, to me, you have to include Hopewell into the mix for now also. Not in order - Myers Park, South Meck, Hopewell, Char. Christian, Providence

    NCBBall, Braves and Wuffman -- You guys all have tabbed Tuscola for the top spot. For those of us who are less well-traveled and who are underinformed, would one of you please give us some details about Tuscola, their personnel, schedule highlights, etc., and the reasons you guys pick them at the top. And, by the way, where is Tuscola? :huh:

    Why Tuscola

    The Mountaineers are in the same conference with T.C. Roberson around the Asheville area. Last year, they went undefeated in conference, defeating TC twice during the regular season. They only had (i think) 2 losses last year, 1 in the playoffs and are returning most of their key players. They also have that great intangible - senior leadership. They were the MAC conference champs last year. I know they were 19-1 and ranked #2 in the state going into the playoffs last year.

    The key players for Tuscola are;
    1. Eric McConnell, P: Who gives you that quality arm as a stopper on the staff.
    2. Blake Murphy, Catcher: Great hitter & closes down a running game
    3. Steve Reinhold, CF: Erases every mistake in the OF, raw speed on the base paths & hits for power

    They are all signed to colleges for next year.

    Actually, Tuscola is from the "Big City" of Waynesville, near another big mountain city called Canton,,,,, maybe 30 minutes west of Asheville.

    The Tuscola baseball team is legit,,, they are awful strong.
