    It definitely looks like the runner in #1 is trying to cleat the catcher, which isnt good sliding techinique. It looks to me like the catcher in #1 might have just recieved the ball and is trying to place the tag. But the runner should have slid outside of the plate and clipped the corner with her hand. This is bad sliding technique.

    In #2 the slide is definitely better and the catcher's placement looks better also. I'm going with number 2 on better technique.
