From Salisbury Post SR at MP

South Rowan's baseball team lost 8-4 at Mount Pleasant on Tuesday.
Dillon Parker's two-run homer in the third inning was the highlight for the Raiders (0-1). Tyler Fuller, South's sophomore right fielder, had three hits.
Matt Miller took the loss. He was a victim of the seven walks he issued, plus some shaky defensive support.
Four walks and an error helped MP take a 4-0 lead in the first, and the Tigers (2-0) never looked back.
Ryan Ross drove in three runs for Mount (2-0), and Jake Kimble scored three.
"We walked too many and we just didn't make some plays we needed to make to get our pitchers out of jams," South coach Thad Chrismon said.
South is at Northwest Cabarrus on Thursday.

Salisbury Post: Kannapolis and Concord recaps

    • A.L. Brown lost 11-2 in its opener at Sun Valley on Tuesday.
"We'd been playing very well in our scrimmages against outstanding competition, but we didn't play well today," A.L. Brown coach Empsy Thompson said. "Sun Valley swung the bats. They were aggressive. They hunted fastballs and did a good job when they got them."
A.L. Brown had the bases loaded in the first with none out but scored only one run.
Nate Sexton and Micah Miller drove in runs for the Wonders.
Tyler Sides pitched four innings and took the loss.
    • Michael Ball pitched five strong innings as West Rowan won 7-1 at Concord on Tuesday.
Bryce Burns got the Falcons (1-1) off to a great start when he led off the game with a homer and they stayed on top all the way.
Burns, Michael Pinkston and Louis Kraft had two hits each for West.
Nick Collins pitched the sixth and seventh.
