    NW 9 Carson 1

NW beats Carson 9-1 behind a very strong outing on the mound by Ryan Keziah. Several Trojans had hits with Corey Seager hitting a three run HR.

JD, i just spoke to one of the players parents today and I can tell you how this person feels about him.(In private of course). My opinion, so long as the AD and the school continue to let him act this way, and keep him around, win or lose, he's going no where. He's is just continuing where the foundation is laid for these players. Their youth league tolerates coaches and parents acting like bellowing idiots so by the time they get to high school it's encouraged to act this way.
I have a small piece of advice to East Rowans coaches, players and fans, stop humiliating yourselves. You are only making the strikezone smaller for your pitchers and the strikezone very large for your hitters. Thats just not fair for the kids.

Hightower's antics are embarrassing ..and stupid!!

Clearly his players emulate him and that is disgusting. I am afraid he will never change. He seems to know the game, but sometimes that isn't enough.
There are many good leadership traits but he shows none of them. If I were his AD, he would be gone today. Or at least be demoted to assistant coach in charge of whatever baseball skills he is good at.
I would love to see some posts here by ER parents. Folks, what are you thinking.
And, BTW, Hightower isn't the only head coach in the area that ought to go, for similar reasons. Just watch the behavior of a couple head coaches in the I-MECK.

It looks like I'm not the only one that thought he over-reacted. There are two ways of doing things, the right way and the wrong way. He (and Cauble at Carson) seem to be the ones that continually do it the wrong way IMO. bblady, as far as getting ER fans to comment, they'd probably defend his antics, as odd as that sounds. But then again, listen to what comes out of some of their mouths during a game and you'd understand why they would defend him. I'm sure not all of the ER fans aren't like that but a bunch are.

    East Fan

I am a east fan and parent. I would just like to say that was an excellent game played by both teams. It is a shame we are not talking about the kids. I think the ump as you said in this post may have shrank the zone or missed a call and if that is so that is a shame because the game should be about the kids and not him (ribbing the ump is part of baseball if he cant take it he should not do it). As to right or wrong the coach did his job and definded his team. Last be carefull what you say about east fans and the program we all live in glass houses. What I mean is, east fans we will ribb an ump but we would not start a post to bash another coach maybe a little of the pot calling the kettle black. To the Players Great Game Young Men.

You're right ashtonbase, it was an excellent game and the talk should be about the players. I guess it's human nature though to talk about a coach (any coach) that acted that way. The thing is though it wasn't "any coach", it was Hightower, again. How does anyone say a high school coach is defending his team by dropping multiple f-bombs directed towards the ump and then by running out onto the field of play while he's confined to the dugout to drop more f-bombs? As far as my "fans" comment. I know there are some great fans of ER baseball, but there's a difference between ribbing and heckling.

    NW 6 Central Cabarrus 5 - final

NW wins rematch with CC that started on April 6 and stopped due to lightening in the top of the 5th. NW jumped back into the lead as game resumed with Tanner Bigham hitting a 2 run homer followed by a solo shot by Corey Seager on the very next pitch. CC rallied in the bottom of the 7th with 2 runs. Freeze and Smith both got to re-start on the mound and both went the distance. NW travels to Kannapolis tomorrow.
