Prayers Needed for the Beck Family (Parkland HS)

Tanner Beck is a senior at Parkland High School, a school in the 3A West who is entering the playoffs tonight as the #4 seed from the Piedmont Triad Conference. They are playing the Ragsdale Tigers in the first round.

His dad was diagnosed with cancer about two years ago and was in a long battle with it. Miraculously, after a hard-fought battle, the cancer actually subsided and went away.

However, recently it came back again and the doctors had been saying that there was nothing they could do to get rid of it this time, and they gave him only weeks to live.

Mr. Beck passed away today.

I just want to send a prayer out to the Beck family, Tanner in particular because I know him and he's a great kid. This is a big time in his life, right before graduation and as his senior year of baseball winds down.

I'm not sure if he will be playing tonight against Ragsdale or not but I would support his decision either way. It's obviously understandable if he is unable to go but I wouldn't be shocked if he did play if he is at all capable - that's what his dad would have wanted, I'm sure.

Anyways, just keep the Beck family in your prayers please.

Our prayers go out to the Beck family for their loss...Mr Beck has gone to a better place and will be looking down over his family..Keep a strong faith in God and he will help in this very trying time

 

My prayers are with the Beck familly

Keith was known on this board as the oldAngelscoach. He has been involved in baseball and softball for many years. He was a fine man and a friend, that loved to coach, watch or talk about baseball and softball. He will be missed. I know there are a lot of high school seniors playing this weekend that played for Keith at sometime, so when you step onto the field please say a prayer for the Beck family and know that he is watching you play.

Listen, OAC was not only a great guy, but was a welcomed member. He contributed a lot to TBR. As far as I am concerned, people can dedicate as many thread to Keith as they want

I'm not always an active poster but I'm an active reader, and I've seen many posts by OAC throughout the years. Never put 2 and 2 together and figured out that he was Mr Beck.

Sad story.
