Our prayers are being answered. Keep Praying for the Popes!!!

All of Ashlyn’s surgeries are completed. All that is left is the recovery. She is stable but still on the respirator. They will try to take it away today. She is still heavily sedated because of the pain.
Please continue to pray for Ashlyn and the family. There is still a long recovery; and, everyone is tired

Still in our thoughts and prayers

    Ashlyn and family,
We will continue to pray for your speedy recovery. I know you will
continue to grow stronger every day. God bless you and your family.

Haven't heard much about her dad so am hoping his injuries were not
serious. Can't imagine how he felt at the moment he saw that car
    coming.....terrible helpless feeling.

    Props to Alexander Central!!

Copied from the Guestbook on the CaringBridge site for Ashlyn:

    Hi Pope Family,
The Wilkinsons here again from Alexander County. While we didn't beat you all in football tonight, we are all sporting around lime green bracelets now. Our softball team sold them on the Alexander side and actually ran out of the bracelets and people were still handing all kind of money to the girls for Ashlyn.
We are sending up praises for answered prayers. We are lifting you up for strength now through your recovery and healing. You have already come so far. Keep the faith!! Keep up the fight, Ashlyn!! You are doing awesome.
    HOPE FOR POPE!

Chelsea, Tandra, Robby, and Matthew Wilkinson

    GO POPE!!!!

We went to visit Ashlyn today. She was sitting up and talking! In order to sit up in the bed, she has to, in her words “put on her turtle shell”, which is like a cast to help support her back. She was very coherent and ask Taylor how she liked Louisburg, she has come a long way in the last few days!

Paula and David said there was a chance she could be moved out of the trauma unit soon. She would still be in ICU, but a step in the right direction. When we walked out of the hospital, we agreed we had seen a miracle.

Her parents are so thankful for the love and support everyone has shown their daughter. She still has a very long and difficult recovery ahead. Keep the thoughts and prayers coming.

We are so glad to hear Ashlyn is doing so much better.A day doesn't go by without thinking of her and her family or looking at the updates which get better daily.I can not imagine going through what they've been through the last few weeks.
Hang in there Ash,you're heading in the right direction and you will prevail with GODs miracles.
Next time you see Taylor ask her if she's had a good grilled hot dog lately.lol

    Pope

Lester and me went to see her yesterday and she doing well. She really does look good. They put a regular cast on her leg and arm. Also take the braces off her teeth. They were going to find her a regular room and start therpy. She was is good spirits, her and DD were making fun of each other. Pope is a true fighter and a great kid. Dad did bring the dogs and Daizy the deer so she could she them. It was on a video camera and she seemed to happy with that for now. She still has a long road but she is one tuff young lady.

    From the CaringBridge journal:

Ashlyn will have to have another surgery to remove “Arch bars” (have no idea what these are) that were placed in her when she arrived at the hospital. These bars were inserted to support her broken jaw bones until they could perform the jaw surgeries. The surgery will be brief; but, they will have to put her under to do it. They have not moved her to the rehab center. This will take place within the next couple of days.

Ashlyn’s pain is still severe; so, please continue to pray.

I would love for this entire journal to be read to the court.

    UPDATE:

    From the Caring Bridge Journal

"They have moved Ashlyn to the Levine Children’s Hospital which is on the 4th floor of Carolina Medical Center. She is in room # 4011. They only allow 18 years or older on this floor; and, they check everyone’s IDs.
Paula asked us to especially pray for Ashlyn’s pain."
