Pre Season predictions for High School Softball

    It's been a long and hot summer, but its time to get those pre-season predictions out for your hs conferences. I hope everyone does better on this than I did last year, but hey, no guts, no glory (or is it wishful thinking???)

    So, list your predictions for your conference and maybe a little discussion would be nice too!

    1A West Yadkin Valley (YVC)

    1. North Moore
    2. Jordan Matthews
    3. Chatham Central
    4. South Davidson
    5. West Montgomery
    6. East Montgomery
    7. Thomasville

    I believe it is a toss up for second place between JM and CC. 4 thru 6 could also be a toss up. In the end I believe the final game of the year will be between East Surry and Pender.

    The Pender "powers that be" have yet to announce a Head coach for this year to my knowledge, So depending on their choice I would say that the ES/Pender match-up prediction is still up in the air for now. If they choose the wrong coach it will be like starting all over again for those girls and the program. They may not even make the playoffs.

    1A WAC is just that WAC!!! Could go in any direction. If Pender has it together they should dominate the WAC this year, only losing 4 players last year. That's pretty strong.

    I think North Moore places 3rd behind JM and Chatam Central.
    Swain should walk through their conference pretty easy also.
    East Surry comes back to the Creek if they get by JM.

    2A Central Davidson if healthy, makes it back to the Creek and comes out on top for Back-to-back titles..

    Never know till June hits who'll be on top of their game. We'll just have to all work hard and meet up then.

    its time to put my foot in my mouth again this year, so here we go:

    1. East Gaston 4A
    2. Crest 4A
    3. North Gaston 3A
    4. Ashbrook 4A
    5. Southpoint 3A
    6. Hunter Huss 3A
    7. Forestview 3A

    East Gaston and Crest will dominate this conference. North Gaston will be strong, Ashbrook will be trouble for everyone with Ali Short returning, Southpoint is always in the mix with good coaching, Huss will be better due to players on travel ball team and stronger pitching, and Forestview will suffer same fate as Huss did last year with lack of pitching.

    West Johnston will be # 1 and has all the parts to go to Walnut Creek. At least 6 seniors that have been varsity starters since 9th grade.
    Amanda Davenport should be one of the top pitchers in the state. She was the state games regional champions' main pitcher.

    Amanda was playing for the Carolina Flames this past summer , she is one of the better pitchers our team(Rage) faced all summer and will be one of the elite pitchers in HS ball next spring

    I hope Amanda goes to the college of her choice. She is a hard worker and great pitcher. I am sure she is being recruited heavily.

    Not sure what conference these schools are in, but I believe they will win their 4A conferences:

    Wake Forest Rolesville
    Middle Creek
    West Johnson
