Hey everyone. I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could post the results of pre-season scrimmage game results since there is a thread of pre-season schedules. Just post the teams, result, and any key notes. Thanks.

    South Meck vs Independence (scrimmage)

It was not the prettiest baseball ever played as the South Meck and Independence got in 12 innings worth of baseball this past Saturday.

South scored 19 times, including at least one run in each of the first five innings, compared to the Patriots’ 6. Independence committed 8 errors while South booted the ball around 5 times.

Highlights included Zac Kennedy with 4 hits for the Sabres and Jonathan Ratledge with 3 including a long home run:D . Sabre pitching looked pretty good for their first time out sending 6 different hurlers to the mound. They allowed just 3 earned runs in the 12 innings of work. Rubinstein pitched well and TJ Worrell looked good coming off arm surgery going 2 strong innings. Young guns Morris, Layman, Andress and Rollison all looked strong.

Pitching depth may prove a problem for Independence if they plan to repeat last years performance.

South’s final pre season tune-up will be Wednesday at Sabre Field vs. Central Cabarrus at 4:00

Southern Wayne vs. N. Hanover 2/21 SW9 or 10 N. Hanover 3or 4. Good pitching from Hamm and Windham. SW threw 5 guys. All threw well. SW hit some balls hard and flashed signs of some pretty good defence.:applause: SW could make some noise in their conference.
