DHConley over Purnell Swett (The two Greenville teams, Rose and Conley, are very strong).

    Hoggard over Pinecrest.

I think Myers Park and North Meck win, along with S. Caldwell.

The Richmond Co. vs FV and the South Meck/N Forsyth games are very interesting. Possible upsets?

In 2A ball, it's hard to pick against Greene Central. Watch Ayden-Grifton in 1A east, as Williamston is already out.

The North Forsyth vs. South Meck game is going to go about head to head and there are excellent baseball playing cousins on each team playing tonight during this game against each other.

Gib Hobson @ North Forsyth is an award winning right-handed pitcher and NC State signee and will probably be on the mound tonight and Ben Kerr @ South Meck is an all-conference short stop and UNC Asheville signee and will be at starting short stop for South Meck.

North Forsyth may have a little edge with regard to pitching but South Meck may have a little edge with regard to their bats so...it'll be just whichever team shows up with their best foot forward tonight.

North Forsyth went 19-4 overall this season and South Meck went 14-8 overall this season. North Forsyth may have the most confidence going into the 1st round of 4A state play plus the North Forsyth team has the more experienced seniors on their team as well.

I'm going out on the limb here and, I perdict...South Meck 3, North Forsyth 2 or some sort of South Meck slight edge upset over North Forsyth tonight but...it hopefully will be a lot of good baseball going on during this game tonight and good luck when the winning team between North Forsyth and South Meck moves on to the 2nd round of 4A state play after tonight!

    1A East Results
    Game played monday:

    Pamlico 4, Williamston 2

Williamston was the home team and heavy favorite. They reached the 1A state finals last year and end their season 21-2.

I think West Rowan will pull one out against Eastern Randolph. ER usually has pretty good baseball but the WR bats are pretty strong.

Northwest Cabarrus over Weddington... how did Piedmont and Weddington get home field ?

Ragsdale over Kannapolis, I'm pulling for Kannapolis though.
Ragsdale has plenty of power , speed and pitching.

    Mt.Pleasant over North Rowan

    Central Cabbarus over Providence

    Some sporadic ideas and theories . . . from the east . . . cause that's where I live.

Rose and Conley will win, cause they'll meet in the 3rd round (Rose cause they're Rose, Conley cause they want one more crack at 'em). Don't count out Hoggard, got some good young arms -- emphasis on young.

Fuquay edges RC, and best 2nd round game will be Scotland vs. WFR.

Eastern Carolina 3A will rule the 1st round, except maybe So.Wayne -- not counting them out, just that Manteo is a tough place to play and facing Defago makes it doubly so. BTW, on the bottom of the east 3a bracket -- Glenn knocks off SSS in Round 3.

Lots of question marks in the 2A bracket -- depends on who shows up to play. I like S.Columbus, but ED is tough with Houston on the bump. Flip coins on the Pasq/W.Bladen & Clinton/Croatan games. S.Granville would appear to be a favorite in the bottom of the east 2A bracket -- but gotta hunch that somebody will come out of the shadows here (like GC and Northwood, hey, even SW Edgecombe may make some noise -- love their style).

1A gets real interesting in the east, with Williamston out. Of course Topsail and N.Brunswick become favorites, but I'm throwing in Wallace-Rose Hill to go deep in the play-offs (? 4th round -- relatively average bracket).

Of course all this speculation is just that -- speculation. Heard a lot, seen a lot but the bottom line is "anybody can beat anybody on a given day" . . . and my all time favorite . . . "it ain't over till the last out is counted."

May your restrooms be clean, and your concession stand sell nachos! Best of luck!

    Intimidator Coach: SPC Homefield

Since the SPC only recieved two playoff spots, the two teams that made it got home field.

The NPC recieved three spots with the one getting home field, and the two and three on the road. Next year when the SPC gets three spots, I would almost guarantee that the SPC #2 will be on the road in the first round.

    Northwest easily gets by Weddington

    Piedmont beats SW Randolph

A good deal of upsets will occur in the 1st and 3rd rounds because the aces are usually slated for these games.
    Garner over Scotland
    FV over RC
    South Johnston over Millbrook
    GH over WF-R

Rose, Laney, Conley, Hoggard all winners

A note on FV; they will go with a 2 man rotation because of the Tues./ Fri. format so this for a team to beat Fuquay they will have to get through Honeycutt or McLaurin, both undefeated this season. Price will move into a relief role. All three will be available for each game although the plan is Honeycutt-Tues. and McLaurin-Fri. each week. This is the reason I pick Fuquay to win it all.
