We just saw this list. Saw two from NC. Might have been more. The two names I saw were Buttrey and C. Seager. I have never seen Buttrey play but press clippings and stats indicate he is the real deal. Way to go Buttrey.
We have seen Seager maybe 8 times over the past two seasons. Very nice at the plate. But........middle infielder?
IMHO, a step and a half slow to play up the middle. Perhaps 1st or 3rd;more likely a DH at USC.
Any other objective comments on these two? Full disclosure please if you are blood relative.

Preseason All American lists are difficult and cause some grumbling for sure. IMO the Perfect Game and Rawlings lists have credibility, but the Under Armour? In a word....no.

I am NOT saying Seager is the man I am about to name, BUT I have heard folks say that Cal Ripken Jr. was a step slow to play SS. However, his arm (and possibly instincts) made up for it. Whatever the case, I can't see Seager ever being limited to a DH role at any level. At the very least 3B. He is a tremendous hitter, but his glove plays as well.

    No blood...
