    Dear Coach,

You are cordially invited to attend:

The NCASA Pride Summer Showcase on June 24& 25th
Greensboro College and NC ASA are partnering to host a Summer College Showcase Tournament for the elite 18U travel teams on the east coast at a brand new 4 park facility in Burlington, NC.

Greensboro College is committed to helping NC ASA continue to offer excellent quality tournaments and helping travel teams play in a competitive tournament with Collegiate Coach exposure. We know that the College Coaches want to watch the best teams play ASA softball! Therefore, we are seeking to host a summer tournament and a fall tournament to serve that very purpose.

You are being invited to this tournament because we believe you have the type of team that has several recruitable athletes on your team and your girls will benefit from this experience. We are asking teams to complete the Tournament Application form and send deposits in to reserve their spots. Teams will be accepted based on strength of schedule played, record, recruitable athletes on the roster, and commitment to playing ASA tournaments and Showcase tournaments. The tournament is open to the first 20 teams that are accepted based on their applications and pay their deposits.

Here are the details of the tournament:

4 game guarantee: 3 pool games Saturday and Single elimination to begin on Sunday

Entry fee $400. Checks made payable to Greensboro College Softball

ASA rules and regulations, and ALL teams must be registered with ASA

A Team Award presented to The Team winner and Runner-up, and Individual awards given to every member on Champion team

Detailed and thorough Coaches Guide given to Any College Coach who attends to help YOUR athletes get more contacts!

Please complete the Registration form and email it to me or mail it back to me ASAP.

How can this tournament (or one of Ray Chandlers/Cardinals) be made into a national qualifier? There REALLY needs to be more than one qualifier in NC! Why is NC ASA so far behind other states like SC, GA, & VA?

    ASA National Qualifiers

Who/Where/How many National qualifiers are determined by ASA National. Only so many given to a particular region. Only one given to a state per age group. This does need to change but is kind of out of NC ASA's hands right now.

I may be mistaken but the number of berths are based on the number of ASA registered teams in a stste, this includes Rec. teams and Etc.Anyone know for sure. Also limiting the amount of qualifers helps in the quality of teams making it to the Nationals say 120 in ASA or 300 in NSA just an example. But the State should at least carry 2 berths to the ASA Nationals.

Sadly, it is based on the number of registered ASA teams for the entire state. The more you have registered, the more berths you get. Best case scenario would be 2 berths for NC. Lot of NC teams do not register with ASA or play ASA. This is especially in the 10u, 12u, and 14u age groups.

    ASA

ASA is the premier softball association in the nation. It is the organization that sets the standard for all aspects of competitive fastpitch nationally.
NC has been behind in getting ASA recognized as such in the state.
NC ASA is going through some changes right now. Hopefully, the changes will have a positive impact on all age groups in the state. There will be more information available before long. Stay tuned!

The big key to helping ASA in NC is to get people that are up to date and involved with junior olympic softball involved with ASA. Specifically meaning those that are involved with junior olympic softball in NC holding a position of office with NC ASA.
