wasnt done correctly at the pride tourney

If things had happened the way things did at the Early Bird tourney I am sure there wouldnt be any complaints. Our team had one of the unpires in training and he did a good job. We also had a female in training and she did a good job as well. It hower did not happen that way. One of the training umpires was behind the plate and after every call he walked to the back stop to consult with the director of umpires. It was so bad that he was actually removed from the game in question and sent to another field. As you can guess the same thing happend on the next ball field and those teams were not pleased about the situation in the least. Training is necessary and when done correctly makes no impact on a game, the girls moral or any other factor in showcasing talent but when done incorrectly it has a huge negative impact after all we are all creatured of habit that love to win even if winning doesnt have a impact on the skills being showcased. That why when teams such as the Attitude, Rage and the Sun Devils play there are way more scouts watching those teams then others that have alot of talent as well. As i firmly believe the best umpire is the one that you dont remember because they had no impact on the out come of the game.

I realize that "Showcases" are to showcase the talent of the girls. I also realize that any coaches watching the game will see bad calls that an umpire may make and hold that against the player unless they react poorly. BUT, it's doesn't help the players with the coaches that aren't there and don't see the bad call. All it does then is affect the stats of the players.
Winning the game is also important. While teams win the game and the girls talent is showcased either way. Winning teams have many more coaches looking at them. There are many prominent organizations in softball, but they didn't get that way by losing.

I think this got a little off topic and now I'm just venting. Sorry.
