    Sorry this was orginally posted under showcase baseball. I am fairly new to following this page but think it's great. I do have a question for you guys. After looking at some SW conference info I was curious what the schools like south Meck and( I'm sure the countless others in the area ) do to keep up with the "Providences" and "Ardry Kells". I used SM as an example because it looks like they were "supposed" to finish at the bottom the last few years but have finished near the top without the big names of other schools. I know this is long but I just want to know the other schools doing the same thing and what are they doing?

    South Meck still has a talent pool, it's just not as consistent as a Prov or AK. I would place SM, MP and Butler as schools that have talent cycles. When the cycle is strong they can field a team that can beat anybody. On the years that the cycle is lean, it really allows you to see how good the coaching is at that particular school.

    I must say that 2-3 years ago, SM had the most talented team in the conference. They had the talent to go to the State Championship. But AK had Jordan Darnell and Hal Bagwell, so they went instead.

    What Koppe has accomplished at East Meck the last few years has been amazing. Can they keep that up? I doubt it. Too much leadership to replace, but they perform miracles at EM....so...we'll see.

    But, Providence and AK are baseball factories. They never regress..they just reload.
