Saw a kid with a game face in center field...never seen it before....but they were playing the Olympic Team and after seeing them hit...I understood.

Is a baseball pitcher safer at 56 feet than 60 feet 6 inches? By moving the baseball pitcher closer, we will be making him safer?

Mouthguards: GREAT IDEA! F5 with the GameFace: GREAT IDEA!

Pitching rubber back to 43': GREAT IDEA!

    Lengthing basepaths: Still can't decide

Letting each choose their safety standard: BAD IDEA

Reason(s) why: Some kids can't afford a GameFace, 40 bucks a pop. Kids are kids, they "in their mind" are bullet proof and given the choice wouldn't wear even the face mask on the helmet.

As far as getting hit in the chest on a ball and stopping the heart. Just happened in Little League a few days ago in Boiling Springs. Go to www.shelbystar.com to see the full story.

No way to protect against this situation as it was a young man at the plate but if it wasn't for off duty EMS attending the game, this would have been certain tragedy.

Playing sports is always a risk but if we can control some aspects of safety, I believe that we should. Just my two cents.

    Dazzle 12u

My DD plays for the Denver Dazzle 12u. It is required of all infielders to wear the Gameface ( or another brand). At this age I don't have a problem with my dd being on a team that requires that. All players are required to own a Gameface but, the tuition to be a part of the team was cut by $25 to offset that cost.

My DD plays C and CF and plays a limited amount of 3b (mostly in practice). I thought that this piece of equipment would collect cobwebs in the bottom of her bag. She wore it while warming up ,to get comfortable wearing it, back in February. A few practices later and I noticed that she started wearing it out in CF. She now wears it in CF100% of the time by her choice, not mine or the coaches choice. If you see us play you will now notice that all 8 girls on the field wear the Gameface. After a few practices all 10 of the girls just got used to the mask and now consider it just a part of the uniform.
