Neither.....told me on friday that if I had put up $75.00 to protest a non-protestable call then I would have won out in the end. Win what? A protest that should have never taken place. We weren't argueing whether the ump made a bad call on the interference, only that you couldn't protest his decision after it was made. I told Howard that I did not feel that because I did not have $75.00 in my pocket then he could not hear my questions on their decision. Hopefully it is about the girls but I guess we would be stupid to think it wasn't about the money as well..

It's a shame to lose that way, and in support, I also would have packed up my kids and left. To go from being down only one run to being down by four over a very, very bad decision would definately mess up my day also. Thumbs up to Coach Hawkins for playing it cool and we won't go into the thoughts about the umpiring situation.

Was it the Carolina Comets that dropped out of the Bandits tournament?

what exactly does this have to do with this thread??? Ya can't drop out of something you were never in. My understanding is that the comets were asked to play, given a one week notice to try to find hotels, etc to play in this tournament, seemed kinda impossible, so they declined. So you were asking this because . . . . .????

The Comets were never in the Hot Times Classic. We got a call from Ken Bailey last thursday asking if we wanted to play. Ken said he had 4 teams to drop out. Needless to say we declined because we didn't have enough notice to get ready for the tournament. The email he sent out today makes it sound like we pulled out along with the NY team. Ken jumped the gun and added us to the pool without contacting us before hand. We should have never been in the E6 pool to begin with. As far as the NY team, I was told that someones house burned. At any rate this won't effect the Caroina Pride or Sothern Explosion. They are in another pool.

It's not a problem for me, nor a waste of time for either to get a question answered, It just sounded like you were throwing darts. sorry if I took it wrong, and good luck in florence. OH, by the way, nice miss-direction play with the runner on third, havent seen that since the King & his court came to Michigan when I was a kid.

EnKaJet, Why did you have to post this???????? since you did FYI There was 4 teams that dropped out of the HOT Times.
Ken Bailey Called me on Thursday 7th and asked me could I fill in the spot.
I told him I would try. THE CAROLINA COMETS have never done Ken Bailey wrong infact Ken Bailey and his wife are a good friend of mine.
I contacted Mike and he asked the girls and they couldn't do it due to A LATE Notice. It would have been hard to get rooms and for all the girls to get off work since this was not a schedule tournament.Believe me if the Comets could have helped out Ken we would have been there. The Other team that dropped out had someones house to burn down. Now I want to make this clear WE DID NOT DROP OUT. Called Ken Bailey and ask him what happen.
    Thanks F-PITCH

Good Grief...As I stated earlier, I received an email that went out to all the teams and I was curious if it was the same Team that Paul was associated with. Glad you and Ken are friends. Not even sure where you read into my post that your friend Ken had issues with the comets. Basically the post was straight forward and to the point. geez....And I thought paul had already answered this one....
