    There are more than two teams left from MECK. County. Not sure where you got your info.

    Meck County teams left

    Mallard Creek and Lake Norman are the other 2 teams.

    I think the balance of the Meck Co teams are preparing for Legion and Show Case ball.....much to the dismay of a huge group of posters.

    I'm sure the good citizens from the Lake Norman HS want no part of Mecklenburg County taxes....LNHS is in Iredell County (or it was yesterday anyway)

    Even more dismayed that some prepare for those even before the HS season is over.

    One of my big complaints as a HS guy: there is always a next team, next game. Pull one jersey off, throw another on. "Oh well, I got another game tomorrow." (We lost last night at 9:30. "Shwcase coach" called a practice today at noon.) It simply does not mean as much now as it once did - playing for your HS, wearing that name across your chest, and being passionate about it.

    But hey, how can they be passionate when they have 80+ games every calendar year, so many of which are focused on "getting me seen - getting me to the next level"...

    I know... sour grapes and all that.

    If I was wrong -- I'll admit it. Yes, I was wrong. My apologies to the good people at Mallard Creek. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way! Now you can admit that you were wrong too "baseball woman" or whatever you're name is!

    You should not have sour grapes . I am a " football guy " and when my son started showcase baseball , I was like what is this non competitve crap !!! There are competitve tournaments out there , but also a lot of let me get my at bats and go home . Could not agree more with high school pride and even the game being lost .
