    Found it!

The 1191 number would have been correct if the county re-alignment had taken place but they chose not to do it.

I don't get it. The NCHSAA says you have 1191 students, they have moved you to 3A. I have a tendancy to believe that the NCHSAA is correct and don't understand what the county has to do with it. I'm not trying to argue with you I just don't understand why they would move you to 3A and say you have 1191 students if it is not true.

    Here ya go NB!

    Article from local newspaper.....

IT'S ONLY FAIR TO TRY TO BE BALANCED

The Kannapolis Wonders playing football against Charlotte Catholic hasn't
been around as long as Thanksgiving.
    It just seems like it.
Tomorrow night, in an NCH-SAA third-round (quarterfinal) 3AA game, the
Wonders venture to Catholic for the third time in the last four years. The two
teams met at Kannapolis Memorial Stadium last year.
The site may change but the winner hasn't. It's been Catholic all three
times, with the Cougars going to the state 3AA final each season.
The law of probability makes you think the Wonders are going to win this
test sometime, although that hasn't worked for Clemson playing basketball at
North Carolina (0-53) all these years.
Nevertheless, if the Wonders keep playing Catholic, they're going to beat
    the Cougars sometime.
The wisdom of officials a long time ago decided that it was all right for a private
school (Catholic) to be part of what is almost exclusively a public school athletic
    association.
I wrote some 20 years ago that if Catholic was going to be in the NCHSAA, it
should be bumped up a classification, in this case to 4A, because of its private
school status. Haven't changed my mind in all this time.
Which isn't to say the Cougars are invincible. They aren't. But the point here is
    fairness.
Speaking of fairness, here are the latest ADM (average daily membership)
student numbers for some schools you might be interested in: Northwest
    Cabarrus, 1842; Jay M. Robinson, 1,557; A.L. Brown, 1,308; Hickory Ridge,
1,256; Concord, 1,150; Central Cabarrus, 1,083; and Mount Pleasant, 933.
Next school year, those seven schools and Cox Mill will be in a 3A league.
Northwest will lose a projected 844 students to Cox Mill not gain students
it could have gotten, nt will not gain students it could have gotten, because
the Cabarrus County Board of Education voted against it. Robinson will not
lose students it could have, because the Cabarrus County Board of Education
    voted against it.
Look at the ADM numbers again and think about fairness.
By the way, here are the "final adjusted numbers" upon which realignment
    was first formulated about a year ago: Robinson 1,344; Northwest, 1,343;
Hickory Ridge 1,289; AL Brown; 1,252, Central, 1,194; and Mt. Pleasant,
    1,191.
Close enough for government work, I guess.
I'm a big fan of the new league, if the playing field is as level as it can be.
I'm not a big fan of that school board vote last September. The fairness ball
    got dropped.
On a happier note, here's wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. May those
who truly need a bailout get one, and for those who don't need one,
    congratulations and thanks.

    Small Ball

MP chances to win is not to make any errors in the field and play small ball when someone gets on base. The majority of outs will come by strikeout so you have to play it smart when someone gets on. You have to get some bunts down fair. Slap hitters have greater chances of success against CD. They can hit ball out front before major movement begins.

As for CD, they must find some holes and take advantage of errors which they have done in the playoffs this year. Hitters must be able to take outside pitches from MP pitcher (good curveball) to right field. CD has went extra innings in both games 0-0 scores after 7 for a reason. This game will be low-scoring with the team able to execute the best winning. There are no free rides when you get to this stage of the playoffs.

May I say I appreciate the confidence and excitement of the MP fans, parents, etc. You've got a program happy to be where they are. May the best team win! And for CD and their coaches, nothing but class and respect.

Hate the thread got derailed a bit....gotta love over-zealous parents with powerful avatars!

When is this game supposed to be played?

The final score will answer any/all questions about both teams....as it should be. What a GREAT match-up.

Any predictions besides mine? I would be absolutely shocked if it was a high scoring game!

Now, wouldn't that be a neat ending????
I'd love to go to the game, but can't find out when it is....and the effect of the rain on the scheduled time.

It could be a 1-0 game....either way.....depending on an untimely error by either team.
