Question about Tpx Top 96 Event need advice

    I recieved a e-mail saying my son had been selected to attend the North Carolina Tpx Top 96 event being held in Rocky Mount NC in July. I personally don't know anything about this or have ever heard of this. I was hoping some of you with much more baseball knowledge than myself would have some advice. Thanks

    My son was invited to this also, so I checked on the High School Baseball Web and a couple of other places and it appears this is a pretty big event in the North. They have now branching out and are hosting events all around the country. They then appear to be inviting the best players at these regional events to their main event which is pretty well attended by scouts and recruiters. Right now there does not seem to be much infomration to judge the regional events on. The guys on the HSBBW seem to think it is a good event if you want to go up North to a school. I guess we'll have to wait and see how these regional events play out.

    I ahve spoken with Doug Henson at TPX top 96. IN fact he asked if I would help send out info. I probably will do this, I need to discuss with my bride(aka... the boss). It seems like a good opportunity for more exposure, so if kids wan tto go to this, then go for it, what can it hurt?

    Isnt TPX one of NC HS baseballs sponsors ?

    I think they rely on the coaches to get the names and addresses or to send info to their players ...

    i dont think the players are selected from a special list of elite talent..

    I'm not sure about the sponsorship, but I think you're correct about coaches getting the names out. I'm in RM, and first heard of the TPX last fall. Not sure how much of a push it's getting. I'll talk to a guy here in town to get an update.
