Question on infield dirt

    Thanks for the info. Actually posted in the softball section as well. The new softball field at Watauga is scheduled to have that mixture put down by the company building the field. I just want to do some background checking on that mixture to see how it holds up in the weather. We currently use brick dust with clay mixed around the bases and turface mixed in. We have very few issues with rain currently.

    If I can make a suggestion to you: You have the "Dr. of Dirt" already in your program, Pete Hardee HC of the baseball program. I can't imagine a better resource in your particular area than Coach Hardee. He is to dirt what Gates is to the computer.

    Yes, I know Pete very well. The baseball team doesn't use that mixture right now either. I haven't checked with him, but I believe they're putting the same mixture on the baseball field as well.
