To the best of my recollection, this is a first.

Since becoming a contributor to this board, I can't recall ever promoting anything here that directly involved my son. However, for the purpose I'm about to describe, I hope you'll allow an exception.

For many of us, the High School Baseball Web has been a valuable companion to this message board. Together, it's hard to imagine a better set of resources for any player who is considering playing baseball beyond high school.

In the last couple of months, the High School Baseball Web has implemented a weekly, 30-minute webcast on Sunday nights starting at 11:00 PM EDT (It's at 11:00 because that's the earliest they can put it on for free.). Each week, they try to feature a guest who has something to do with college or professional baseball.

This week, my son, Robert, has been asked to be the featured guest. Judging from what has been written about his participation, it looks like college recruiting is going to be the principal topic discussed; although, if time permits, it could also wander into other areas with which he's got experience.

Frankly, I'm here promoting this as much to acquaint those of you who aren't familiar with the High School Baseball Web as much as I am the webcast, itself. If this prompts your first visit, you'll discover a wealth of insight and information there...just like you do here; but from a somewhat different perspective.

For those of you who are interested, here are links to the message board thread announcing his participation and his most current bio:

By the way, each of the webcasts is being archived; so, if you have sufficient interest, you can listen to previous ones. The webcast's first guest was this board's Coach 27! He's known as Coach May on the other site, and he was featured in the webcast's first two segments. If you listen to nothing else in the archives, I'd listen to those.

For those of you that have never visited HSBaseballweb, what a terrific resource. It's something that you must check out.

Although it's a board serving a national membership, it's unique that after 3 broadcasts 2 of them have featured NC residents. (Coach May and Robert Woodard)

I am really looking forward to hearing what Robert has to say. I guarantee you it will be insightful.

Prepster, as much as you have helped members of this board, over the past almost 10 years, with your insightful posts, a willingness to give back and to think your son has moved on to his career, yet you have stayed at TBR to contribute.....well, it tells me that Robert---whose reputation is impeccable-- hasn't fallen far from the tree.

Thank you again for following up on my suggestion to post this. It will be very helpful.
