    TC Roberson

Although Roberson finished 25-1, they were still a very young team with one freshman, two sophomores and three juniors in the starting lineup. Impact players Cameron Maybin (JR), Wes Williams (JR), Josh Thrailkill (SO) and Justin Jackson (FR) all return next year. With the addition of some very talented underclassmen from their 22-2 JV squad, the Rams should be even better in 2005. They should still be one of the better hitting teams in the state, but pitching and defense will be their strength. Thrailkill and junior Seth Laughter will anchor a staff of four quality starters. RHP's Jonathan Wright (FR) and Todd Yancey (SO) should make immediate contributions.

For our cougars it was not as good as we had hoped, but better then we have been in many years. I was fortunate to see three seniors finish their careers in grand style with all three earning all conference honors, stepping up and being team leaders and all of them graduating with honors from one of the most academically challenging public highschools in the state. On a personal note, son Robert played his last game as his best game, pitching a complete game win over Erwin 11-4 and going 4-5 at the plate with a homerun over the left center field fence his last time at bat for the cougars. What a thrill for mom and dad. We made video tapes of this televised game for just about every relative we have.

Good luck to the 04' players at the next level and in life. :applause:
