Region 5...State Games Try-outs

    I was in High Point yesterday for the 2nd try-out for Region 5 (actual 2nd one was cancelled due to wet field conditions, I believe)!

    I was wondering if anyone is privy to any information regarding the selection of this team! Specifically,will another session be scheduled to further evaluate the ball players,since #2 was cancelled? How will notification be,and when? There were 70+ very good looking ball players out there yesterday and it must be a VERY hard decision to make in order to pick an elite 20!! Are the coaches already mostly sure of who they're going to take and are just looking at a few question marks? Does Impact Baseball press figure in? How can four coaches evaluate that many players in such a short time if they aren't already pretty sure who will make the team?

    Been there...

    done that! It is tough VERY tough you rely on your assts as well as other expert knowledge and those who have been exposed to the players! It is also tough logistically to try for hold an extra try out! Like pickn straw out of a haystack often... My five years assoicated with the staff we did well! Two silvers and a gold! I may be somewhat subjective and bias here BUT I believe Region Five has traditionally had the best talent throughout the state! :) Cum get me guys! heheheheeh :bananalam

    GOTTA GO BY YOUR INSTINCTS, GUT, RUMORS, WHAT RESPECTED COACHES REPORT. EXCELLENT GROUP OF GUYS, LOADS OF TALENT.
    7 TOP TEN TEAMS REPRESENTED(ALL CLASSIFICATIONS) 55 SCHOOLS, 8 CONF LEADERS
    THEY WILL BE NOTIFIED BY A PHONE CALL WITHIN 2 WEEKS.
