    I know most regions had there first tryouts this past weekend for the all star games. Give us some info on the numbers and quality of the players.

    We actually had our second try-out this past weekend and are ready to attempt to pick the team. We had 24 or so sign up for our region, all worthy of a spot on the team.

    We do however need to increase the number of schools represented at the try-outs. I think we had 12 schools represented out of a possible 35+. We tried to pick a central spot for our region to save on drive time for everyone.

    This is an exciting opportunity for these girls and coaches. I'm looking forward to seeing how this will turn out. I know "Pop" has worked hard with the coaches association to make this a great event!!!!

    You have built it, and they will come. Let the word spread and the coach's already difficult decision of picking a team will multiply. More HS coaches will feel left out in the future. I know that several girls that didn't show because they felt intimidated. But the ones that did go are going back to their teams with great excitment. Thanks to all the coaches that take up your own time and effort for this project. The weather was perfect.

    Yes, I agree, no need to mention names until they have made the team. The region that is being coached by the Person High School coach had about 30 players at their first tryout. This is not a lot of players considering the huge number of schools in that district, but there were many quality players there and that team will be very, very good.

    I heard the region that is being coached by the Central Davidson coach had around 35 kids come out. With the pitching and hitting in that region I am sure that team will be very, very good.

    I heard one region only had 13 players come out...that is really a shame. Surely somebody didn't get the info.

    easy to make that team with 13 and get PT, but I know what 'cha mean.
