    update

Kayla underwent 2 1/2 hours of surgery this afternoon. They found a tear in her meniscus as well as the torn ACL. Everything went as planned and she is now on a CPM (continuous passive motion) machine and itching to get up and move around. We watched the DVD of the surgery and it is simply amazing at what they can do. Her attitude is great and pain is still under control. I want to thank each and everyone of you for the prayers and continued support for the long road ahead. I have often said that softball creates families from strangers even on opposing teams. Again, thank you all.

I'm happy for her that it went well. Things have advanced somewhat since my DD's acl repair. We had still photos; y'all have a dvd. That's great. My daughter was inspired enough to want to become a physical therapist. She is in her last year of school. By this time next year she should be a Licensed Physical Therapist. Since y'all have it on dvd maybe your daughter will be so inspired.

My daughter was a catcher and played two more years after the surgery. She decided not to play college ball. I really think she made the right decision. Her grades have been all A's and B's and I don't think that would have been the case had she played ball. I'm still at it though.

Good luck to your daughter! I hope to see her play some day.
