    CVAC FOARD 2 HICKORY 1

    In a hotly contested rivalry game played in less than 90 minutes foard hangs on for the victory. Tigers score a run in bottom of 2nd with a double and 2 hickory infield errors to take a 1-0 lead. Andrew Wyant leads off the bottom of the 3rd with a solo home-run to increase lead to 2-0. Hickory scores a run in the 4th with a single, stolen base and a double to cut lead to 2/1. Chad Rothlin picks up the complete game win allowing 4 hits with 12 k's. Kurt Hammonds pitched well for hickory allowing 7 hits in 6 innings with 9 k's. Leading hitters for tigers, Rothlin 2/2 bb, Wyant 2/3 HR .

    Marvin Ridge 3 Parkwood 2

    Marvin Ridge pulled out a 3-2 victory in 8 innings. Justin Setzer got the win for Marvin Ridge and Seth Boyce picked up the save. D.J. Phillips (Wingate signee) threw a heck of a ball game for Parkwood, throwing well into the 8th. Marvin Ridge moves to 13-1 (8-1 conf).

    The Trojans beat the Raiders 3-2 with Overcash getting the win for NW.

    Mount Tabor 7 Davie County 6

    Great game in Mocksville tonight at Rich Park. Mount Tabor had a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the 6th and the War Eagles scored 6 to take a 6-4 lead going into the 7th. Clint Howell struck out the first batter of the 7th and then Mat Batts singled and Brad Wrege drew a walk to set the stage for Ross Plummer. With 2 strikes, he hits a 3 run homer to left center to give Mount Tabor a 7-6 lead. Turner Simpson threw the 7th and got the save. Mat Batts started for Mount Tabor and had a 1 hitter until the 6th. Davie got 5 hits in the 6th capped off by a 2 run homer by Jacob Vernon. Batts struck out 10 in 6 innings. Clint Howell threw well in relief and took the loss. Records are Davie 13-3, and 3-1 CPC, and Mount Tabor 5-8, and 2-2 in the CPC. Great game played between both teams.

    For the second time in as many days these two teams matched up. Hiwassee Dam may have the smallest park in NC HS baseball, makes for alot of fireworks.
