Any details on the Myers Park v Grimsley game? How about Ardrey Kell v Mallard Creek?

    Grimsley 3 Myers Park 2 9 innings

George Carter doubled home Matt Netteshiem with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th for the win. Patrick Oechsli and Netteshiem hit HRs for Grimsley. Kevin Rose picked up the win with one scoreless inning in relief of Carter who pitched 8 terrific innings. Grimsley goes to Hopewell next.

    Asheville 0

Great pitchers' duel. Zach Hall from Asheville 1ER and 4 hits with 7K's, unfortunately for us Preston Lyons from Forestview was better. One hit shutout with 13K's, no walks and one HBP. The kid was outstanding. Fortunately for Olympic, he won't pitch the next game. Congrats to Asheville on another good season. Back to back playoff births for the first time since the early 80's. Coach Hillier really has them going in the right direction. I also give a pat on the back to my own. William Head finished the year with 41 SB's in 42 attempts. Can't wait til next season! Good luck to all the remaining teams.

Note: Get up on the plate and go the other way. Lot of junk but effective. They will crowd the plate.

Tough loss for the two seniors. Last game in HS. They were the last on their team leaving the field. Their buddy (or brother) which grads next year and has played with them since they were seven. Joined them on their last walk to the activity bus to the last season ride. Enjoy the years guys. It will end for some and expand for others.
