I've held off on this long enough now. After Friday's loss at Southeast Guilford, Coach Karen Dull at East Forsyth coached her last ballgame. She is retiring at the end of the school year after 34 years of teaching and 28 of those years at East Forsyth. I do not have the final totals but I do know that her softball win total is over 300! Many of you do not know me on the softball side, but I am her son and I have followed in her foot steps as I am a teacher and a coach (baseball). I have thanked her numerous times, but I could never understand or grasp how she coached for all of those years, raised 2 young men and still managed to cook us a meal at home. She also washed our uniforms night in and night out just so we could have the same stuff to wear for the next game. She also somehow attended 99% of mine and my brothers games from little league through high school! That in its self is remarkable! It was tough to see her Friday, after that tough emotional loss, but she is now free to do whatever, whenever and enjoy her R and R! Thanks for all you did at East Forsyth in the softball and volleyball programs!

    Love you Mom,

    Drew Dull

We need more like your mom Drew... but for now we just need to be grateful for the few out there that we do have. Congrats Coach Dull on what you have given to your girls!

    Not just a coach...

But a great mentor and example. I have had the great pleasure of working with Coach Dull through our summer league over the past few years and I can honestly say that she is one of the finest people I have met in my life both on and off the field. She is one that truly get it right when it comes to priority. Handles every situations with grace and wisdom not to mention a savvy competitor. Her players as well as students respond positively to her. I have often said that if you can't play for Coach Dull you can't play for anyone! Now go to Alaska, enjoy Ryan's games and the rest of life!!
