South Meck Sabre Heated Bleacher Stadium-Seating in 2004:

LATEST NEWS…Out at the Bagdome at South Meck High, and for the early cold-weather high school baseball games, the Bagdome will have heated stadium-seating in 2004. The Sabres’ bleachers will be hooked up to electricity so that the bleachers will be gently warmed for cold butts during the early spring high school baseball games! The heated stadium-seating venture is going to be a little expensive but the Sabre baseball booster club has voted that it will be well worth the investment. The only problem foreseen, at this time, with the electrified bleachers is that in the event of rain and/or snow, there may be possible electrocution but hopefully some of the Sabre parent baseball electrical engineers will have that problem solved before the first scrimmage game scheduled for 2/21/04 @ South Meck in the Bagdome?!?

2003 NC High School Baseball Concession News Poll: South Meck Sabre Award-Winning Concessions add to High-Quality Sabre Baseball Complex:

The South Meck Sabre award-winning concessions added to the high-quality Sabre baseball complex in 2003. The South Meck Sabre concessions were selected as the most innovative concession services for a 4A NC high school baseball concession in the 2003 NC High School Baseball Concession News poll back in June of 2003. The South Meck Sabre concessions earned top awards in all five high school baseball concessions program categories including: concession innovative services, concession overall menu, concession redeveloped menu, concessions program design, and concession management team.

    Congratulations South Meck Baseball Concessions!!!

    Harding High School

Harding lost standout lefty Rodney Quinn on the mound. Quinn had excellent control and could, at times, take control of a game by himself. He's going to be hard to replace.

I have the roster from last year, but don't know the classes of the players. If you have any updates (or if any of the players have graduated) let me know.

    2003 Harding Varsity Players:
    Ryan Matthews
    Darin Gillis
    Dane Phillips
    Nate Hartley
    Seth Wofford
    John Paul Buckley
    Nick McPherson
    Byron Graves
    David Berry
    Matt Johnson
    Brian Lawing
    Brad Caldwell
    Thomas Forehand
    Mitch Williams

Any Harding followers, give us an update.

Central Cabarrus will find itself in the same situation that North Meck was in last season. They won the conference behind a strong set of seniors and have been devastated by graduation.

The returning player list is small, but the JV team was good. As always, Central Cabarrus will be one of the best hitting teams around. It's in the water over there in Cabarrus County. Experience on the mound will be in short supply the first half of the season, then WATCH OUT !!!!!

A top 4 finish is not out of the question, due to the quality of the program and, in fact, I expect a top 4 finish. They will always be able to "out offense" some teams and pick up victories that they shouldn't get otherwise.

    Returning Varsity players:
    Jason Auten, LHP/OF
    Ryan LaBoy, RHP/OF
    Brad Hinson, LHP/IF

Basically the entire JH Rose team returns, minus Flye, Massey, and Forbes.

If the players don't read the headlines and stay focused, they could be better this year than last.
