    Why Myers Park won it...

...caught Richmond looking forward to Independence in Round Four... whoops.

Both RBs went for 100+ yards...
MP's Bradley goes for 133, while Richmond's Whitley runs for 105

Two keys to the game as I saw it... (not to mention a MP fake punt from their own 11-yard line in the first quarter going for a 44 yard pass, which was the gutsy call of the year)

    Key One...
Richmond scores first, but MP answers (both in the 2nd quarter), but after the scoring run by the QB Robinson for MP, a Richmond CB grabs and tackles the QB in the end zone for a penalty... MP starting kicker is hurt anyway, so they go for two and get it for an 8-7 lead.

    Key Two...
Same score, MP goes three and out to begin the second half... Richmond tips the punt from the end zone and gets it on the 25... one play and a touchdown... 2-pt PAT fails so it's 13-8. MP then goes on a 19-play, 94-yard drive which includes six-for-six on third down (including two of more than 10 yards) and takes up almost nine minutes of clock time to go up 16-13 (2-pt. PAT good again)

Richmond had great play from the QB (passing) but so many drops by WRs killed them. That and Whitley must be hurt, because there were no runs between the tackles that went for gains, they pitched and tossed him wide alot... playing right into the speed of the MP defense.

Richmond's D was on the field too much (30 minutes). I've never seen the Richmond front seven manhandled that much in a game (and I've seen all of the Richmond-Indy games of the past three years).

Game will be on Time Warner Cable this week (along with Brown's upending of #1 West Rowan)... worth checking out this pair of games... lots of choices for this week (with four games of interest involving area teams)
