    I beleive that it is always right -left and field the ball on the inside of your left foot.By fielding the ball on your glove side this helps you to get rid of the ball quicker.Also on a double play you want be open to second base so you can make a good throw.Also on the backhand you want to be able to replace your left foot if you have your left foot on the glove side with your right foot.I think this is the only way you get anything on the throw.If I am wrong someone please tell me because I am teaching a lot of 14 year olds these mechanics!

    agreed throw90. its always nice to hear the stuff you are teaching is correct.

    thanks guys for your input. i'd much rather talk nuts and bolts baseball, than who's got a great 9th grade shortstop or something

    by leading right left you hips are aligned in the direction of your throw intended whereas the other way around your hips are way to wide open toward the left almost 90 degrees of your target! Tis accounts for the MANY bad throws you see!
