Not the best field this year with four decent teams and three weak ones. The four teams that survived Saturday were:

    St Pauls #1 seed bye
Purnell Swett over South Robeson 11-2
    Red Springs over Fairmont 10-0
    Lumberton over Hoke Cty 12-2

Tonight the semis are like this:
    Purnell vs St Pauls
    Lumberton vs Red Springs

    Monday Night

    Fairmont 6 Hoke Cty 2
St Pauls 7 Purnell Swett 3
    Lumberton 10 Red Springs 0

Lumberton Junior lefty Tre Britt threw a five inning perfect game in his best outing of the year. A suddenly resilient Lumberton team really hit the ball well all night which has been a problem all year.
Tonight Lumberton (11-8) faces St Pauls (14-2) in the finals. Mac Read will take the hill for Lumberton and either Josh Carter or Chad Brewer for St Pauls.

    Lumberton Wins It

Lumberton (12-8) defeated a good St Pauls (14-3) team 9-2 last night to take the championship. LHS hit the ball the entire tournament for the first time all year. Travis Ransom had a huge home run to break open a tight game.

    WP - Mac Read 7 IP 5 Hs 12 Ks 2 ER
LP - Chad Brewer 6 Hs

Purnell Swett took third with a 15-3 win over Red Springs.
