Just wondering if anyone else thinks that they [ NSA ] should have atleast tried to finish the STATE tournament ? I think for the GIRLS sake they should have tried. The sun was out when we left , the games may have had a delay and might have had to be shortened but at least it could have been finished. :feedback:

I think they should have at least polled the coaches to see if all were in agreement to shorten the game times and try to complete the tourny. After spending three days in Rock Hill and playing hard, it would have been a fair call to honor those remaining and allow them a choice.

Ldfrdguy, I think when it comes to a state championship if it's not at all possible to complete the tournament as scheduled I think a makeup time should be in order. I realize some teams maybe would have to forfeit because they couldn't come back at a later time. Also I'm curious as to what would happen if the weather was bad and the tournament couldn't be played at all? Would there be no state champion, and would your team be able to play in the World Series? I think you have to play in the state championship to qualify for the World Series.

    agree and then some

What does NSA plan on doing for the World Series this year? We will be using a lot of the same fields. It may rain during that week also. I am in no way trying to bash anyone or start up an "NSA Bash party", just curious if they have planned everything out. As you all know there will be many teams from other states staying all week.:feedback:

If I remember correctly thae last Worlds held in Charlotte / /Rock Hill had delays due to heat and rain and were played to completion. Theere seemed to be built in room to catch up. As for the states the ffew coaches I spoke with said that the fields were a total mess and were not supprised or disapointed that it was cancelled.

We played at Hargett on Saturday and Sunday After the rain on Sunday even if you could have got the infield ready the outfield would have been like a swamp I bet it still hasn't dryed out We were fine with the decision to call it

    I agree

I agree , if this was just another tournament it may be a little diffrent but this was state, and nothing was done to try and finish, I think asa had rain and they finished, it just seems this happens to often with nsa , not trying to bash nsa but facts are facts. jmo

I think we probably could have finished but it would have been midnight before we got out of there. Allow me to wax philospohic for just a bit here... I used to be the type of personality that tried to fit square pegs in round holes when I felt things weren't going according to plan. As I have gotten older I have learned to go with the flow a bit more. The thought occurred to me when I got out to the interstate Sunday afternoon and it appeared as though not a drop of rain had fallen less than two miles from cherry park that maybe something else was at work. Maybe God had brought that rain so that one of the girls would avoid getting seriously injured... it was such a heavy downpour in such a confined area. Only he knows but the cancellation is something I can certainly live with.

    Not worth it....

Muddy infield and wet grass (promotes injuries), shortened games, umpires that want to go home, etc. All things considered, a $3 trophy just doesn't seem worth it.
