Rocky Mount at Wilson Fike to be.....

Outstanding performance by both teams

This was a heck of a game. For awhile I thought the game was going to be over faster than it took me to get there. The lights were not even on and it was in the 5th inning and scoreless. In the top of the 6th with 2 outs Ben Fish hit a curveball over the short stops head to plate two runs. Rocky Mount would go on to tack on 3 more and win the game 5-0. Wil Barringer was on fire at the plate tonight reaching base in all four plate appearances with 3 hits one being a solo HR and on an error.

Bentley Massey was great once again and should have been out of trouble in the 6th but an error kept the inning alive for RM. Jim Leggett was tremendous throwing a complete game on just 59 pitches and giving up only 3 base hits. Wilson Fike is a great team and should be very proud of the season they had. Rocky Mount is playing great baseball when in matters the most.

 

I hear ya Stretchy!!! It was a fond memory of mine as well!! Congrats to the Gryphons! What a nice DIGG!! Only a few more construction sites to break ground at this year! Hats off to the young men of Rocky Mount Baseball!! KEEP ON DIGGIN!!!!

 

Okay, so you have the Warrior and the Worrier...all in the same household. I wonder if Jim Leggett has to provide his Dad IV's between innings with ice tea. (or is that Long Island Ice Tea)

What a great win by Rocky Mount. I'd like to congratulate Fike for an outstanding season. It has been a lot of fun for me to follow this team all year. But it was even more fun to check on Grayben's pulse all year. Bentley was awesome and I am excited to follow his future at Barton

 

Rocky Mount is going to end up winning the whole blessed thing just so Ragsdale can have the dubious honor of having beaten the last three 3A champs the season they won it all at the Impact Invite.

Andy - if you invite Ragsdale again, please make sure they lose to whatever team they play from the east. They'll be golden then. Thanks in advance.
