The varsity game was rained out. Not sure of make date yet, but will be a doubleheader due to the fact that the varsity didn't get to play them a couple weeks ago because their coach was in a car accident.

West Stanly will travel to Butler today to take on the Bulldogs.

 

West loses heartbreaker to Butler

The West Stanly varsity lost to an awesome Butler team 4-0 tonite. Errors have plagued the Colts the past few games and we committed way too many tonite and we didn't hit the ball at all. Major applause to the Butler pitcher, she brought it tonite. The Bulldogs also hit the ball very well. They are by far the best team we have seen this year...Good Luck to them in the rest of their season. Chelsea Morton pitched a great game for West.

The Butler JV's defeated the Colts, 3-0. It was great game and also the best JV team we have faced this year. Casey Lowder pitched well for West but took her first loss on the season.

It is always fun to play quality teams with great coaches. Great job to Butler!!!

West Stanly Varsity will host 3A Parkwood for doubleheader tomorrow afternoon beginning at 4:00pm.

 

West Sweeps Parkwood

The West Stanly varsity team won 2 games tonite against 3A Parkwood. Both games were only 5 innings since Parkwood only had nine players. We struggled to hit the ball in the first game and once again committed to many errors that made it a really close game. We did much better in game 2, hitting, being patient at the plate and fielding the ball. #2(M.Reavis) for Parkwood is a player. She can flat hit the ball and appears to be able to play any position.

Errors plague Colts in loss

The West Stanly varsity lost to Mt. Pleasant tonite 5-2 in an error plagued performance. Kelly Furr pitched for Mount and did a great job tonite keeping the colt bats off balance. Chelsea Morton also pitched well for West, but the Colt defense feel apart behind her, committing 5 errors.

West Stanly defeated West Montgomery on Tuesday afternoon 13-0. Freshman Andrea Fowler pitched a one hit complete game shut out. Alice Smith led the Colts at the plate going 2-2. Justine Speight was 1-1 with double and Leslie Shue was 1-1.

The Colts will host RRC 2A Monroe on Thursday night in Oakboro at 7PM and travel to SPC 3A Piedmont on Friday afternoon.
