    Any info on how the tourney has went so far? Match-ups, upsets?

    Also, Tigers, if you're out there, what time does MP play tomorrow (Wed)? All I've heard is that the tourney is at West Stanly.

    Someone mentioned this morning that Charlotte Catholic upset Mt.Pleasant in the RRC tournament. Is this true, and how does this affect MP going to the state playoffs?

    MP should still get the #1 spot as the regular season conference champion. Whoever wins the tournament now will get the #2 spot.

    mt pleasant gave the game to them, personally everybody there is pretty confident that mount lost on purpose, pretty sorry if u ask me, beat a team 15-1 then lose 5-4, yea they lost on purpose..walk the first batter, hit the next, then give the next one a belt high pitch...thats sorry

    nsbaseball, what's your beef? Would you like to explain what Mt.Pleasant would have to gain by "throwing" a baseball game, that is if you could convince me that 9 teenagers all went out there to lose a game and play poorly on purpose. Yea, I'm sure that happened.

    Would you like to explain????

    Wufman, sounds to me like someone was counting on MP winning the tourney for them, so they wouldn't have to win it themselves in order to make it to the state playoffs. If I'm correct in my thinking here, MP is #1 seed in tourney and state playoffs from the conference. North Stanly is #2 in tourney, but only gets the second state berth if they OR MP wins the RRC tourney. Someone straighten me out if I'm wrong, but I think that is the situation there.

    I agree, I think the idea that a team would do that is just crazy. Every game is important to these young men and the coaching staffs.

    People can say what they want to, but Coach Swanson and Mt.Pleasant did NOT lose a da** baseball game on purpose!!! :mad:

    The North Stanly crowd should be mad that they didn't beat West Stanly, thats ok,,, but it sounds silly to try to blame "not making the playoffs" on MP losing...

    It's hard to imagine Mt. Pleasant throwing a game, and if you watched the game you would tend to agree. I didn't see bad pitching, bad hitting, intentional errors. I watched an excellent game with a few errors. Good teams do lose games, and this game was hard fought by both Charlotte Catholic and Mt. Pleasant. Tell Van Popering who pitched an excellent game that the game was thrown. Tell Starcevic, who got the save that the game was thrown..most of all tell Josh Benton and his team mates from Mt. Pleasant that the game was thrown.

    Charlotte Catholic won the game, you can't take that away from them. Last night Starcevic ripped a triple to start the West Stanly/CCHS game the exact same way the Mt. Pleasant game started 3-0 after the first inning....I suppose that means West Stanly is in the midst of throwing the game? I doubt it!

    Well put Wufman. I was not aware of NS losing until after my previous post (great paper coverage up here). Definitely the reason for the sour grapes.
