Sanderson never good get anything going offensively. I don't remember a runner reaching third base. Good news is, Rose wasn't very offensive either. Strung some hits together early and let it stand.

If Sanderson can pull out a victory tomorrown in Greenville, game 3 will be on Saturday in Raleigh at 4pm, I believe.

uhmmm...offensive enough to win 5-0 and Sanderson never deemed a threat... I saw a number of solid hits on JHR's behalf...including some powershot doubles... can't believe either team was able to do much after the 4th, as that HAS to be the darkest, most poorly lit field in the Carolinas.

All it takes to win is to outscore your opponent by 1.

Should be interesting tonight. I would expect a LARGE turnout.

 

where exactly did they play? this was not sandersons normal home park was it?

 

That is Sanderson's home park. It is poorly lit. The place where they play is maintained by the City of Raleigh. It is called Optimist Park. I have heard several parents and players also complain about the lighting. The conditions of the field used to be a whole lot worse. The staff at Sanderson really has done a nice job upgrading the conditions, but there is not much they can do about the lighting without the city's help and finances.

I totally agree with you on that one.
By the field being owned by the city of Raleigh and not by the county school system, Sanderson just has to deal with it. I feel that it is bordering on being dangerous.
During one of our playoff games one of the field umps came up to the coach and asked him if he was ever going to cut the lights on. This was around 9:00 at night when he asked.
On a game note: Greenville's outfield play was outstanding. Andrew Cain sure can cover some ground. I felt that he robbed Sanderson of a couple of big hits that could have impacted the game for Sanderson.

No kidding, Optimist Park is a tough play to see period. Glad I'm not a left handed batter early in the game either. Sun is right in your eyes. Lights are just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Bad!!!
