A friend of mine runs the "Armory" near Tampa FL. Randy played some college ball at Erskine and the Citadel, but didn't have a great arm, speed, or bat. But what he showed me in HS was how to hustle and out work everybody else. He's still out working most of us. He married his "awesome girl". Has a full life, 3 sons, a successful rehab business, coaches for Chet Lemon, and has helped nearly 30 pitchers top 90mph. Some are HS freshman.

He played legion ball for 5 years. That's right. Coming out of 8th grade, he made a top notch senior legion team. His friends said "what are you doing?" and he replied "don't worry about it". He made the team. They didn't. Grew up playing football in Bobby Richardson's back yard. Perhaps he learned something from the former Yankee. Lost his dad to a heart attack his sophomore year.

He made this post on twitter and his blog. Since most everybody's season is over, players are starting summer ball, the fortunate ones are chasing the road to Omaha, or getting drafted, or both. I thought it might be good to share. His blogs are funny, heart warming, and meaningful. Just because he promotes his business at the end doesn't make each story less fun to read.

Follow him on twitter to get connected. Here's one of them. Rough Start, Great Finish
