#4 Seed Parkland upsets #1 Seed Mooresville 8-4. Senior John Ray pitches a gem with lots of hitting by the young PHS boys. Both teams are overall very young. Expect both to make a lot of noise over the next couple years.

    Reidsville 6
    Roanoke Rapids 7

    WP: J. Dixon 7IP, 6 hits, 7 K

Roanoke Rapids trailed 6-4 heading into the bottom of the 7th inning. We scored 3 runs with 2 outs in the inning to win the game. The rally was highlighted by the game winning 2 RBI single by senior Zack Johnson.

This was a great ballgame. Reidsville and Coach Holcomb are a class program. Now I just need to go buy some "Just for Men" to cover up all the gray hair I got tonight.

I heard that McMichael beat Northwood tonight 4-3. That means that RR will travel to McMichael for a 2nd round matchup.

    AD Soutview

AD loses tough game once again as bats are silent in 1-0 South view win.
Vance Williams strikes out out 12 allowing one hit with one unearned run. Pick off attempt allows runner to go to third.. Flair single drives in only run.
Sad thing is he had runner picked off in previous attempt and ump blew the call.
AD had runners on 1st and second in 7th with no outs but could not get in the tying run. Earlier inning failed bunt attempts must have caused the coach not to try and bunt the runners over. The coach is the only one that can answer this question.
Southview advances and takes a big sigh of relief as they made the one play needed in the game to advance.
