    Lumberton Amazing Run

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but Lumberton has not given up an earned run in its last FIVE games:

Cape Fear conference semis 3-2 both runs unearned
    Swett conference finals 3-0
    Pinecrest State round 1 3-0
    Ashley State round 2 1-0
Hoggard round 3 3-1 unearned run

    Congrats to Indy!

    West Forsyth 9 - Independence 6

This game stayed close the entire way. West Forsyth took advantage of timely hits. I doubt there were many men left on base for West. Indy showed some heart and loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but couldn't push any runs accross. It was a great year for Indy and they should feel good about their season. After a short break (about 20 hours) I can head to a legion game and start all over! Good luck to South Meck the rest of the way. West will be a formidable foe but I've got to pull for the locals(I'm with ya Braves). Three of the final four teams in the West were from Charlotte. Not too shabby!

Hats off to Indy for a great season- many didn't give them the credit in pre-season because of graduated players, and they proved many doubters wrong. The represented the Meca 8 Conference well and should be very proud. It is sad to see Aaron Bray and Daniel Cooke's high school career come to an end (trust me, I know all about it), as well as the other Patriot seniors, but they should hold their heads high and remember they went out fighting! Thanks for the memories guys! Here's to making new ones!

I noticed...and that's why I am picking Lumberton vs Conley. Conley might have the names with Aubrey Edens and Alex White but Lumberton has something special.....a total team effort and chemistry

The thing I have admired about Independence the past two years is not only the talent they display, but the class that they show. They have represented Charlotte well the last two years. Kudos to their players and coach. I am proud of their efforts and accomplishments and fully expect Coach Coltrane and his boys to compete for titles as they move over to the SW4A

    I have to agree.....

Indy is a very classy group of players and parents... It's been a pleasure competing against them over the years. There is a definate love of the game displayed and they approach the game the right way.

I know their graduating seniors will have great college careers ... I think Robby Bray will be recognized as the most dominating pitchers in Charlotte next year. I just hope that they get a solid #2 for next year in the always tough SW4A.
