What a classy post CPC...the respect that SM has for the players and coaches at West Forsyth is enormous. Such a talented, talented team that we faced and quite frankly, the series could have gone either way. We are just so thankful that we did not have to go back to WF today because the bats of Nick S-R, Holt, Snow, Manring, Stemper(sp) and all of your boys is not one that we wish on anybody. I know we don't want to play you again.

You guys showed your "stuff" well and it was a priviledge to play with such an extraordinarily, talented young men...Good luck and wish success to all the Titans this summer and those who are moving on to the next level.

DH Conley wins the second game of the day today 7-0.

This sets up a matchup of South Meck versus DH Conley.

This should be a great series.

Recap of today's action in the Lumberton/DH Conley series:

Edens pitched 4 innings in the first game. He returned in the second game into the 4th allowing 1 hit. White came in and finished up game #2 also only giving up 1 hit.

The 4th inning was the big inning for Conley (15-3 victors) with Edens having a huge game at the plate too. He had a triple with the bases loaded and later that inning had a 3-run homerun down the rightfield line.

In the 2nd game today, Conley scored early, putting up 4 runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 7-0 victory. Lumberton reportedly struggled with the gloves uncharacteristically.

    NW Cabarrus 11 Hickory 1 (5 Innings)

    Trojans Dismantle Red Tornadoes 11-1

Jerrod Faggart hit a 3-run HR off of Ben Gibbs in the 1st. Chase Hodge then followed with a 2-run double to put NWC ahead 5-0 for the 2nd time in as many nights. In a strategic move that may pay dividends Monday night, the HHS coaching staff quickly pulled Gibbs in favor of reliver Justin Dickson .

Blake Ketner got the win and Chase Hodge added another RBI in the 4th. Bret Honeycutt also had a 2-run double.

(sorry guys, I didn't bring my scorebook tonight)

    SERIES TIED 1-1.

NEXT UP: Game 3 @ Hickory High and a chance to go to the State Championship to play Southern Alamance.
