Boxman, actually Kannapolis hit 4 homeruns tonight to boost the team total to 43 for the season,,,,,, Jake Faggart (6), Ryan Query (7), Kyle Seager (5) and Brian Little (3). Great pitching by Blake Ketner (6-0) to get Ktown started in this series.

Ktown (20-5) now leads series 1-0 and heads to Mooresville (13-14) tomorrow night for game 2.

    Lexington - 1

South Rowan put a beat down on the defending Area III champs tonight. Lexington kicked it all over the place, SR had a bunch of clutch hits and Rudy Brown had his stuff. Lexington's only run came on a 9th inning solo shot by Josh Bush. Game 2 @ S. Rowan tomorrow night.

    Rowan County-12 over Mocksville-2

    Stanly County-12 over Concord-1

Looks like the higher seeds all came out last night wanting to set the tone for the series, and it worked for everyone except for Lexington,,,,, btw great win for the South Rowan program. However remember these are 5-game series and nothings over after just one game...

    Kannapolis Post 501 - 9 Mooresville- 2

This game was a lot closer than the final score. Mooresville rising junior Chris Beaver pitched a great game (the score was 4-1 going into the 8th inning) but was bested by Kannapolis ace Garrett Sherrill (5-1) who went 8 innings and struck 11. Beaver's good outing was spoiled by Jake Faggart's solo shot in the 8th and Jerrod Faggart's grand salami in the 9th. Sherrill's only mistake came in the 5th when he gave up a solo blast to Justin West. Micheal Blocher pitched the last 2 outs for the Moors and Brian Little finished for Post 501.

Kannapolis leads the series 2-0. Tomorrow's probables (Robby Gurley vs. Von Tilley). This will be a tough game as Iredell County American Legion Legend Whitey Meadows announced his retirement tonight before the game (35 years of coaching!)----Post 66 would love to give #20 one more home game Tuesday night.

Late Final: South Rowan 7 Lexington 6 (10 innings).....Rudy Brown wins again? (I think I heard that right)

Great pitching by Garrett Sherrill (5-1) tonight, as this was an App.St. nite for Kannapolis (21-5). AppSt signees Jake Faggart (7th homerun) and brother Jerod Faggart (11th homerun) gives the Ktown a team total of 45 dingers this summer.

    Keep swingin guys...:satana:
