    Newell 9 Hickory 8 10 innings

Hickory blew an 8-4 lead in the 8th and wasted an excellent pitching effort by Clay Smith. By my count, Hickory had 8 or 9 errors - total defensive meltdown.:banginghe

    Stanly 4
    Concord 2

Concord lost a heartbreaker last night. Leading 2-1 the whole game, stanly hit a 2 run shot to go up 3-2 in the top of the 8th. Concord came back in the bottom half with a runner on hit a ball that was over the fence and the left fielder found his way up the wall and brought it back. There was silence in the crowd. It was a great game and both kurt benton(stanly) and Geoff Brown(concord) pitched great games.

Good pitching on both sides. Only 1 earned run all night. There were at least 7 total errors in the ball game.

Kernersville won 3 in a row for I think the first time this year and took advantage of mistakes. Kernersville will probably play Eastern Randolph barring that they dont have a complete collapse in the next few days
