I also heard Briggs would be back (from his dad). Also heard Eric Roach will not be available - he will be attending orientation at UNCC. Is that correct?

I'm thinking because the East mostly have 4 teams in their Division playoffs and the West has 8 in theirs.

South Rowan 6 Lexington 5 SR wins the series 3-2

Rudy Brown & Daniel Secreist hooked up in a tough pitchers duel that went back & forth. The game ended with Lexington loading the bases, scored 1 run...still one out. But SR's reliever pitched out of the jam.

Lexington had a great season, hitting nearly 40 home runs!

Congratulations goes to South Rowan, who fought the odds & beat Lexington twice at Holt Moffit. It could have easily been the other way around, but this wasn't a fluke...South earned the upset. Best of luck!

Roxboro Post 138 downs Chapel Hill Post 6 in game 2

Roxboro Post 138 defeated Chapel Hill Post 6 last night 11-3 behind a very strong pitching performance from Blake Bowes (Rockingham Community College) who went 8 strong innings. Hunter Wrenn (Person Highschool) came in the ninth to close it out for Roxboro Post 138. The Roxboro bats were hot last night as Chapel Hill threw three pitchers at Post 138. Also Roxboro Post 138 played outstanding defense last night behind there pitchers!!!
Series is tied 1-1 and moves back to Chapel Hill Highschool tonight at 7:00pm.
Winner of the series will face Northern Durham who I beleive won there series against Raleigh.
    GO ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Area IV: Henderson Cty vs Pineville

P'ville takes the series 3-2 last night over a scrappy HC squad that had more than one player who tried to play by flapping his gums and, in the process, demonstrating the intelligence of a peapod. Disappointingly, late in the game P'ville responded accordingly with equally as juvenile retorts.

HC decides to bean the relief pitcher who comes to bat in the 8th. C Austin responds - with his bat - closing the door with a walk-off grand-slam to 10 run HC in the 8th.

Wish the players would focus their energy on throwing, catching, hitting and running rather than yapping and dropping f-bombs. Poor sportmanship sure takes away from the sacrifice of real men and women who served our country and make American Legion baseball possible.

next series P'ville Post 337 vs Asheville Post 70, Saturday evening 7PM @ S Meck HS.

    See www.baseballdiamondfinder.com for directions.
